I’m excited to share my performance of two original fiddle tunes in the Eureka Music Faculty Recital, accompanied by my partner Brian Davis on guitar! These will eventually be part of an album of original tunes, with the help of Brian and fellow Turas members. Heartfelt thanks to my teacher, Becky Tracy, for her coaching over the last five years.
Blurb: Matilda’s Hornpipe and Rights of Woman are two hornpipes composed by Sarah Riskind, influenced by traditional Irish music. Matilda’s Hornpipe depicts the changing moods of her cat Matilda (calm and sweet in one moment and feisty in the next), while Rights of Woman bears some resemblance to the existing tune Rights of Man.
